Falcon Laboratories: Where Cutting-Edge Development Meets Friendly Design
Background
Falcon Laboratories was the agency portion of my startup business. We specialized in web and mobile development and design, as well as software engineering consulting.
The site needed to reflect that sensibility and was driven by a friendly feeling design while maintaining an informative aspect.
Challenge
The design challenge was blending fun design with the message of reliability and expertise. We wanted the services we offer to be perceived as top-notch, but with a congenial edge.
Design Goals
Our goal was to put forward a reliable, approachable, and communicative service for solving complex programming, development, and design problems.
The design of the site needed to be simple and informative with ample information and an easy way to contact us.
Process
BRAINSTORMING
The original sketch started with a list of sections and components I knew we would need and then I began to build a rough framework for each.
WIREFRAMES
Since the site was small, constructing the wireframes from the sketches was straightforward, but it's always exciting to see the first bits of form take place.
FINAL DESIGNS
The design language was heavily influenced by the vaporwave aesthetic with the direct and bright colors. I wanted to impart a sense of nostalgia and familiarity into the design.
REVIEW
I had a lot of fun planning and designing this site. I was able to push the boundaries with bright colors and add a bit of fun and nostalgia.
